# Problems with editor

 * This is very strange:
 * 1. When I try add a new page or post, I see the visual editor tab, but all the
   editing buttons (TinyMCE?) have disappeared, and nothing happens when I click
   on the HTML tab?
 * 2. I cannot enter any text–except in the title box–and if try to edit a page,
   not only does #1 still hold, all the text on the page or post is white so that
   I can only see it if I select it.
 * 3. I am having this problem on my work computer, and I know they are doing something
   major with this system–switching to virtual server, or something like that–and
   so perhaps it is possible that this problem is caused that; but, in the event
   that it is not, I figured I would post this so that I can get some information
   about how to deal with the problem once I get home.

 * Have you tried:
 * – deactivating **all** plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works,
   re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
 * – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?
 * – [resetting the plugins folder](http://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Troubleshooting#How_to_deactivate_all_plugins_when_not_able_to_access_the_administrative_menus.3F)
   by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause
   problems.
 * – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a **fresh** download
   of WordPress?
 * – increasing the memory available to PHP?

 * Thanks for those suggestions. I will try them, but this seems kind of odd to 
   me: I just logged onto my site, though, from home this time, and half the problem
   has disappeared. I can edit using the HTML editor and I can see the buttons for
   the visual editor, but I can’t type in the visual editor.
