It is always caused by an item in the sidebar or in the content area that is wider than the width of the container element. It could be an image, a long link, a code line etc.
Also, be aware that IE counts differently the total of width + margin + border + padding… than FF.

Nice one, one of my items in the sidebar was too wide.
I’m having difficulty figuring out to custom modify the default page template. If you go to http://www.beyourowndetective.com/blog/ you will see I added my own custom table code with graphics, but it’s way below the header tag. I want it to be at the very top of the page with the H1 heading below it. I tried moving <?php get_header(); ?> below my table code, which sort of works, but it turns the entire page background color grey, and probably does other weird things to the page. I want it to be white.
To be honest I’m not even sure if I am using the template editor correctly. Can I add my own custom html table codes and have them function properly? WordPress does have comprehensive help documentation, but it’s very confusing to follow.
My form code at the bottom of the page appears to be ok.
Also if I want to add an “Ads by Google” banner to the sidebar of my pages, is this not too difficult to do?
