I am having some problems with Woocommerce. I am using the free Woocommerce plugin. A few months ago, I had no problems uploading products to my WordPress Woocommerce store. This past week when I upload a product, it will just upload the description as ‘Product” with no sku number or image. When I upload a product through T Shirt Gang, it will give you the description, a product image and a sku number. It is no longer doing this.

I use T Shirt Gang to upload my t shirt designs. T Shirt Gang uses an API to authorize Woocommerce to connect to your store. Here are the instructions from T Shirt Gang on how to set up the API and Permalinks:

To ensure your WooCommerce site can connect with Tshirtgang, please ensure your store does not have “Plain” common setting enabled.

    Login to your WordPress store

    Navigate to Settings > Permalinks

Under Common Settings, ensure one of the following are enabled: Day and name, Month and name, Numeric, Post name, Custom Structure.

Navigate to WooCommerce > Settings > API > Check “Enable the REST API” setting. (older versions)

Navigate to WooCommerce > Settings > Advanced > Legacy API > Check “Enable the legacy REST API” setting. (newer versions)

The Tshirtgang WooCommerce integration does not support the common setting “Plain”.
    —————————————————————————————–

I followed the instructions, and no Woocommerce authorization is showing now. The pop up showed a few months ago.

I contacted T Shirt Gangs support, and then told me to send screenshots of my settings, so I did. Support got back to me and said my settings are correct. They checked their API and said it was working correctly.

I am using the Suffice Theme from ThemeGrill which supports Woocommerce.

I honestly do not know what is going on.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hey there,

I understand that you’re having trouble uploading new products via the T Shirt Gang, which uses the WooCommerce API. I also understand that an authorization isn’t showing up.

As some fields are working correctly, that means that the API request is going through, but parts of it aren’t working.

It could be that something is wrong with the exact request that’s being made, or that something on your site is blocking parts of the request. It’s more likely that it’s a problem with the request.

You can test if something on your site is blocking the request as follows:

This kind of problem is usually caused by either a conflict with your theme or with another plugin.

The best way to determine this is to:

    • Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront
    • Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce
    • Repeat the action that is causing the problem

If you’re not seeing the same problem after completing the conflict test, then you know the problem was with the plugins and/or theme you deactivated. To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing conflict. You can find a more detailed explanation on how to do a conflict test here.

I followed the instructions, and no Woocommerce authorization is showing now. The pop up showed a few months ago.

WooCommerce API is set through the keys via WooCommerce >Settings > Advanced > REST API. You can create and manage the API keys there, but it won’t show any kind of authorization. It sounds like that authorization is happening on the T Shirt Gang end.

I wish there were more concrete tips that I could offer, but this is very tricky to troubleshoot without access to your site and the T Shirt Gang API requests – that’s not something we can do from the forum.

If the conflict test that I suggested above doesn’t help, then you may want to work with a developer to sort this out further. They’ll be able to offer the hands-on support that we can’t. In that case, I highly recommend contacting one of the services on our customizations page: https://woocommerce.com/customizations/

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.
