Hi, I have tested a couple of image otimization plugins recently. Yours looks to me as the one I will stay with. Reducing jpeg losslessly by 18% looks like magic to me and even some lossy reduction by almost 50% is not visible on the picture.

Can you just confirm, please, that your algorithm always converts jpegs to progressive? I just can’t find a refference to this.

    Thanks, Pavel.

    Pavel,
thanks for your message, I’m glad you’re considering ShortPixel 🙂

To answer your question: our aim is to reduce the size of the images as much as possible while keeping the visual quality. Most of the time a progressive JPEG will be smaller than a non-progressive one but that’s not always the case.

In short, the resulting JPEG will be progressive as long as it is smaller than the non-progressive version and viceversa.

Please let me know if you have any other questions I may answer you?

    Thank you,
    Alex
