    i know this is a basic question and ive looked for an
   answer already in support documentation.
 * can someone please explain to me what Projects and Categories are for in wordpress?
 * perhaps an example of what they are used for

 * I’ve installed the latest version of WordPress it’s 5.1 I think
    And in admin
   panel there is the option to create projects Just like you have the option to
   create pages and posts I don’t know what projects are? Thanks Maria

 * I think the “Projects” came from your theme or one plugin.
    It isn’t from your
   WordPress core.

 * I have three plugins akismet, contact form 7 and classic editor
    I have divi 
   theme and this theme has its own tab
 * That’s very unusual that it isn’t part of WordPress

 * OK, “Projects” came from Divi, it post type and NO it’s not unusual!
    Themes 
   or plugins can add new taxonomies or post types to WordPress.
 * You can get more information about “Projects” from Divi website.
