# Protocol-relative URLs Instead of https for Media?

 * Excellent plugin, very useful.
 * However, since its purpose is to secure all content only _when_ SSL is used and
   not _all the time_, is it possible to change the default so that instead of new
   media embedding as:
 * [https://website.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/example.png](https://website.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/example.png)
 * it embeds as:
 * //website.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/example.png
 * Thank you.

 * G’day Bryan,
 * That’s problematic — not everything generated by WordPress is a web page, so 
   you need the protocol by default. e.g. emails can be generated from WordPress
   with embedded images, and email clients need to know which protocol to load those
   images over (could be HTTP, HTTPS, FTP). This is why WordPress itself doesn’t
   do it already.
