I’ve had some strangeness saving published entries with wordpress 1.5 for a while and I’m wondering if something bad is going on or if I should just ignore it. Here’s what happens… * 1. Click “Publish” on new entry or “Save” on published entry 2. Firefox throbber spins for maybe 3-5 minutes 3. Throbber stops spinning, status bar says “Done” but I’m not sent a new page. (I can tell because the post edit box is still scrolled to the spot where I did my edits right before submitting.) * If I go to my blog, though, the edits all appear properly. So, the entry is saving properly. Could it be that something after the save is going amiss and the browser simply never hears back from the server? I used to be sent a new page eventually, but not anymore. However, I’m used to it so I’ll just make certain that the post appeared on my front page and call it a day :). * I actually still do ping backs. After I click publish, the Firefox throbber runs for 2-plus minutes then produces a popup: “Document contains no data.” * And yet the article is published on the site perfectly. * This scenario happens 100% of the time during tests – whether there is a URL to ping in the post or not. * For an existing site, I’m running WP on a different host. That site has been up for 10 months and I have never had this problem. * Ergo, the problem is not WP but the way WP is set up with the DB system on the server. * Can anyone give me a clue about what the problem might be with the set up might be so that I can cut through BS with hosting services technical support? * Thanks!
