# Publishing posts

 * I have a scheduled post that I wanted to publish now. I tried to do that using
   quick edit and selected status Published and clicked update. After refresh it
   still shown Scheduled.
 * Then I edited the post and tried to change the status from there, there was no
   Published status in the dropdown. There was Pending review and Draft only.
 * I had to change the scheduled time to past time than current, only then the button
   changed to Publish.
 * Is this a glitch?

 * No, I don’t think it’s a glitch.
 * The publication date takes priority, and the post will only go live on that date.
 * So as long as the publication date is in the future, it’s still a scheduled post
   even if you set the status to “published” in Quick Edit.
 * So if it’s a glitch at all, the glitch here is that Quick Edit shouldn’t allow
   you to choose a status of “Published” when the publication date is in the future…
   because it’ll NOT have the intended effect 😀

 * I agree George. But yes it should have a Published option in quick edit. Then
   all good.
