The PublishPress Authors plugin has been causing issues with my site, Reloaderaddict.com (and I know it’s PublishPress Authors since I deactivated all my plugins then, one by one, I reactivated to see which plugin is causing the issues, and it’s PublishPress Authors plugin).

One warning: it’s hard, in not possible, to see the problems unless you’re logged in. Primarily, the problems are (and I’ll add screenshots of this):

    1) https://www.reloaderaddict.com/blog/ doesn’t load when I’m logged into WordPress. However, visitors will be able to see it.

    2) I cannot access a lot of my posts in some sections, like the Pending menu (it has 5 articles, but it just loads forever after the first article is displayed; the remaining four never load).

Again, these issues only pop up when I’m logged in (obviously when looking at my Posts menu) and the PublishPress Authors plugin is activated. Can someone help me with this? I want to run PublishPress Authors without it causing these (and maybe some other) issues. Thanks!

    Hi @reloader2021

    Thanks for using PublishPress Authors.

The first place to start is to see if you can find an error message that points to the source of the problem. This may help: https://publishpress.com/knowledge-base/debug-errors-publishpress-screens/

OK, thank you. I followed the steps on the 2 pages that won’t work (when I’m logged in as administrator in my WordPress site):

    1.

On the Pending post menu at the https://www.reloaderaddict.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_status=pending&post_type=post&rp4wp_hide_is_installing=1 URL, I get the following error:

JQMIGRATE: Migrate is installed, version 3.3.2
DevTools failed to load source map: Could not load content for chrome-extension://eakacpaijcpapndcfffdgphdiccmpknp/scripts/content_page.map: HTTP error: status code 404, net::ERR_UNKNOWN_URL_SCHEME
    hotkeys.js:1 {isHotKeyEnabled: true}

    2.

On the https://www.reloaderaddict.com/blog/ URL, I get the following error:

Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 500 ()
    VM10:7272 crbug/1173575, non-JS module files deprecated.
    (anonymous) @ VM10:7272

OK, the instructions also tell me to submit these errors to [email protected]. Should I do this in addition to posting the message here? Thanks!

    Hi @reloader2021,

    Thanks for the details.

    1. That is not related to our plugin directly but to a Chrome extension. Please, could try on another browser, or deactivating all the Chrome extensions for a while?

    2. The error 500 is a generic error message and unfortunately doesn’t provide information enough for finding out the bug. Please, could try checking the PHP/WP error log? Maybe try activating WP_DEBUG on a staging site for copying the error message?

Hi, my developer tried to solve the issue but couldn’t find it. Here is what he wrote. Can you help? I love your plugin, but I think I would have to deactivate it and find another if the problem persists. My developer’s thoughts:

I tried debugging the plugin but there isn’t a direct error pointing to specific file so I am unable to find what is causing it.

There is this one error that the plugin raises, maybe you can send this to the support ticket you raised with plugin author?

PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 268435456 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 12288 bytes) in /wp-includes/capabilities.php on line 1042

This I think is happening because when admin is logged in it is trying to get some user capabilities and gets struct in a loop somehow.`

    Hi @reloader2021

Sorry, as previously there’s not much we can do with this as the feedback doesn’t have details that help us understand the issue.

Our Pro team can help you debug problems like this: https://publishpress.com/authors/

Your developer is also welcome to open an issue with any specific code errors: https://github.com/publishpress/PublishPress-Authors/issues

Thanks for this. Quick question: if I buy the Pro Account (I’ll get the 5-site option since I have your plugin on 3 sites), am I guaranteed a fix on this issue? If it’s fixed, I’ll be entirely happy with my purchase. But if the issue is not fixed, is there a refund? I’m no cheat: I’d like the issue fixed and am willing to pay for the fix and won’t demand a refund once fixed. THanks!

    Hi @reloader2021

Yes, we normally offer a 14-day refund policy. If it takes longer than than to find a solution (I certainly hope it won’t), we’ll keep extending the refund window for you.
