 * I’ve only recently decided to try jumping onto the bandwagon to learn how using
WordPress, and this is a frustrating problem to encounter “out of the box” if
   you will.
 * The page link I provided is not actually the website I’m building, as it’s still
just a work in progress. Instead it’s a quick html page showing screenshots of
   the missing function.
 * The option to specify an offset for query loops is nonexistent. I’ve found multiple
sources that suggest different locations where it should be found (presumably
it has changed over the years with different version updates). Some suggest it
will exist on the block options bar (or whatever it’s called). Others suggest
it’s on the right side menu. However, in both cases, the option is entirely nonexistent.
 * The sources I’ve found were dated as recently as this past summer, so they would
have pretty up-to-date perspective. The only thing I can think of is that this
functionality has very recently been removed in the latest version of WordPress
that was just released. If so, this is a _terrible_ change.
 * The website I am building would rely heavily on multiple query loops on the home
page–something very similar to a news website. I will need to have “category”
sections on the page where the first (most recent) post is displayed with the
feature image, while the subsequent posts are displayed with their titles only.
This requires breaking up the “category” into two query loops, with the second
   one being offset.
 * If there is a simple way to activate this functionality that I’ve missed, please
   let me know.
 * The page I need help with: _[[log in](https://login.wordpress.org/?redirect_to=https%3A%2F%2Fwordpress.org%2Fsupport%2Ftopic%2Fquery-loop-offset-option-does-not-exist%2F%3Foutput_format%3Dmd&locale=en_US)
   to see the link]_

 * I am pretty certain it is under the advanced tab. I’m away from my computer at
the moment but it should just say Offset, and you select the number.

 * just got home. Click the three dots to the right of display, and that will give
you additional options to choose, including offset

 * Oof, that was exactly correct, and I now feel somewhat silly. So simple, but
so easy to not find. Everything I found online indicated a different menu layout.
Hopefully anyone else confused by this will stumble upon this thread.
 * Thank you for the help!
