• Is there a way to query posts from a specific category on a specific page? Basically I’d like to have a page that displays posts in blog format but only display posts from a certain category. Similar to a category page but I want to be able edit other aspects of the page.

  • Search for the plugin called content views It’s title is odd in the search results…it says: Query posts by category… and display posts on page in grid layout without coding – Content Views
Author is PT guy. I am currently using this pull only the text from a testimonial category… It places the content in a nice grid view when you have chosen that for the blog layout.
You use the Content View settings area to set up individual views which you can insert into separate pages with a short code. So far it works well.

I also use a plugin that allows me to assign categories to pages so I can work with those as well.

Actually I said the wrong thing…you can adjust how the posts display…IE columns etc in the content views settings. Sorry.

I think I found that plugin but ended up using the category pages. But with the evolve theme I can’t seem to edit the specific pages. I can’t find a “category.php” or anything else related so I can make a copy of it using the category page name, etc. There was a tutorial about it but I can’t find the appropriate PHP files for this theme.

    Hi there,

    Thanks for writing in,

If you wish to make your own pages with more customizations you may can use that and also should approach your child theme and you can almost control all over the area of page by the usage of cusrom CSS of the theme.

    Thanks.
