Thanks for reaching out @enforces. Thanks for explaining in detail your current setup. See below responses:
Should I have “Consent mode” enabled in Sitekit in this situation?
If you’re using Google Analytics and Google Ads, and you have users from within the EEU, UK and Switzerland, you should have consent mode enabled in order to maintain the full functionality of Google Ads and Google Analytics, and to ensure users in these regions are not tracked until the explicitly grant consent.
For users outside of the EEA and UK, it’s not strictly mandatory at this time, but it is recommended.
Analytics reports an error in obtaining consent.
I’d be happy to check your site and confirm that consent mode is working as expected with whatever consent management plugin you have enabled on your site. If you wish for me to do so, please share your Site Health information. Please also share what specific errors you’re seeing within Analytics on this. or are these the errors as per your screenshot?
I have also been having problems with a drop in Adsense earnings for a few days now and it seems that the number of registered users is 50% lower.
Without know your site URL, any drop in AdSense earnings may not be related to any consent mode or consent management plugin configurations. I will of course ensure the AdSense snippet is placed and working as expected, however, I’m not aware of consent management plugins that impact AdSense performance by default. It’s possible that some metrics may not appear as high as usual, such as the top earning pages, if your AdSense account is linked to Anaytics, and Analytics visitors are not being tracked if they can’t provide consent, however, I’m unsure on overall AdSense revenue impact.
Given you’re using AdSense’s own privacy and messaging feature as a consent management plugin, which is possible to configure not specifically for AdSense, there may be considerations there that we can check.
Once I have your site URL I can perform some checks. Thank you!
