Hi! I recently enabled the “Minify” feature and found it really killed WordPress performance. In the WP-Optimize dashboard, I see CSS and JavaScript files being reduced in size and cached (I think) but each page I visit takes *forever* to load. I have since disabled the feature.

My question: Is the “Minify” feature CPU-intensive?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Hi there,

The minify feature can be CPU-intensive if your pages have a lot of assets to process, and if they’re different on each page.

But once they’re processed, the assets are cached and do not require any extra time.

This coupled with page caching gives great performance results.

    Marc.
