@acheetahpurr
Can you confirm if you use Inspect URL that the issue is resolved? This will force Google to update the index. You may need to use it several times. This guide explains more: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/fetch-as-googlebot/. Does the thing then appear in Google News?
@suascat_wp I confirm that I’ve asked several times a reindex on google search console and nothing has changed. My articles don’t appear on Google news.
The desktop should display the right version of serp.
This is strange on mobile indeed it looks correctly -> https://i.imgur.com/svjUIuN.png but on desktop it looks different -> https://i.imgur.com/YqZbXvC.png -> https://i.imgur.com/UeGdDZ4.png
@acheetahpurr
Thanks for the additional info. We can confirm Yoast is outputting the right title on the given page. Google is then changing it around because it thinks it can create a better title for desktop users. The only solution we have is to consider improving the title.
Please note that it’s entirely up to Google to decide what to show in the search results. As our plugin is generating the title output correctly on the source code as expected, we recommend contacting Google for further assistance by making a post on their forum here https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!forum/webmasters.
They should be able to provide you with additional information as to how to get the expected output in the search results.
@suascat_wp This is a strange situation and it is more strange because on mobile it looks correctly and only on desktop it does not. Also when I test the link in google serp simulator everything seems to be correct https://i.imgur.com/Wffk0LK.png -> https://technicalseo.com/tools/google-serp-simulator/ but when you check the google search results, those are totally different for desktop https://i.imgur.com/sZMlPjX.png -> https://i.imgur.com/vB6W6lo.png
Thanks for following up with us, @acheetahpurr.
As mentioned earlier, the Yoast SEO plugin is outputting the correct information you have entered into the plugin:
<title>Test 16 Personnalités : Quel métier est fait pour moi ? - Low-tech Nation</title>
<meta name="description" content="Étudiant(e) ou en reconversion professionnelle ? Découvre quel métier d'avenir est fait pour toi grâce au test 16 Personnalités !" />
As you can see, the question mark is in there. But strangely, Google changes what it displays in search results. This is not controlled by the Yoast SEO plugin.
Hence, we recommend contacting Google for further assistance – https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!forum/webmasters.
We are going ahead and marking this issue as resolved due to inactivity. If you require any further assistance please create a new issue.
