# Question re Permalink redirection

 * Hi Everybody,
 * I’m fairly new to this so please forgive if this is elementary stuff.
 * I’m attempting to change the Permalinks for a site. I have adjusted the permalink
   setting to custom /%postname%
 * This has not adjusted, however, as the original setting was not the default setting.
 * Hence, I downloaded a Redirection plugin and have manually redirected each page
   via this plugin.
 * The problem, however, is that it seems that there is a new url generated for 
   each page with a very ugly ID number that looks like this.
 * [http://www.zephertours.com.au/7-day-sydney-to-byron-bay-special#.UGUJ2U12aHw](http://www.zephertours.com.au/7-day-sydney-to-byron-bay-special#.UGUJ2U12aHw)
 * So, the redirection works for this URL but not for the next time this page is
   accessed as a different number is generated.
 * I hope this makes sense.
 * I haven’t tampered with the .htaccess yet as I’m not sure what the original setting
   was and it seems you need this to generate the redirect code.
 * Can anyone help?
