Hi hamudi,
When you get a chance, could you please share a screenshot of what you’ve described?
Also, could you let me know if anything displays when you click on this question mark? (If you could also take a screenshot of anything additional that appears that would be super helpful, too)
Thanks! Please let me know 🙂

Hi!
Here is a screenshot:

As you see Gmail is showing the e-mails coming through the plugin as “unauthorized”. This is shown as a question mark in Gmail.
So then Gmail also does not show any images without a manual permission of the receiver.
Any idea?
Hi hamudi,
Thanks for the screenshot! Based on what you’ve described, I’m wondering if there’s some sort of configuration issue that’s preventing SMTP from working properly.
When you have a chance, could you please go to Settings > WP Mail SMTP and check that you’ve completed the setup for one of the mailer options (Google, SendGrid, Mailgun, or Other SMTP).
If that’s done, please send a test email to see if it sends successfully/any error message appears.
Please let me know how it goes. Thanks!
Hi hamudi,
We haven’t heard back from you in about a week, so I’m going to go ahead and mark this thread as closed. But if you still have questions, please feel welcome to continue the conversation.
Thanks!

Hi!
Thank you for your reply.
Of course the SMTP Setup is done. The test Email works also as stated before – but Gmail shows that the sender is not authorized. Any idea?
Hi hamudi,
This definitely sounds odd, but unfortunately I don’t have a quick solution to offer.
To try and resolve this, you’ll need to either redo the Google app setup (I’d recommend starting this process completely over) or using one of the other mailer options.
The Google API can come along with a number of challenges, so personally I would switch to a different mailer to avoid this issue.
I apologize that I don’t have a simpler answer, but I hope this helps!
