Questions about trackbacks

    I’m trying out WP and I’ve noticed that when clicking a trackback link (http://www.site.com/post/trackback/) you will be redirected to a permalink (http://www.site.com/post/).
    Is it meant to be like this, or is it maybe a bug that happens when not using the default link format?

    And a second question (maybe stupid):
    Are people really using trackbacks? Pros, cons?
