# Quick and Easy Permalink Question

 * I currently use only the postname for my permalinks.
 * Can I change to category and postname without breaking anything ?

 * it’ll probably only break something if you or anyone else has the url’s of the
   old permalink structure linked from somewhere else… wp will update itself with
   the new structure when you make the change.

 * That’s what I was afraid of.
 * I have a lot of posts with just postname and really don’t want to lose all those
   links.
 * That would take a lot of 302 redirects and I don’t have enough time in my day
   as it is.
