# quick question…

 * What reference clock does this widget use? I ask because the time calculation
   appears to be 1 hour off. For example, 15:00:00 should be 3pm, but this widget
   is calculating 15:00:00 as 2pm. To get the countdown to 3pm, I have to set the
   event time to 16:00:00, which is technically 4pm. This either means the reference
   clock is not in my time zone, or, the widget is not calculating correctly, or,
   I’m completely not understanding something here 🙂
 * I guess the follow-up question would be – is there a way to set the reference
   clock?

 * Smart Countdown FX references to server time converted to the time zone set in
   WordPress general settings. If WP time zone is configured correctly you can set
   Smart Countdown FX events in your local time and the widget should display correct
   intervals.
    It is highly recommended to use a continent/city combination as time
   zone option, not direct offset like “UTC-4”, otherwise DST time correction will
   not be calculated correctly.

 * Well, I’m using the correct time zone city in WordPress general settings and 
   Smart Countdown FX is off by 1 hour. I’ve tried a few other countdown plugins
   and so far Smart Countdown FX is the only plugin that is an hour off. Is there
   a way to set the timezone in Smart Countdown FX settings? I’ve looked but haven’t
   found a way.

 * A quick question: what date have you set as event deadline? If the date is in
   summer time DST period the interval displayed relative to a winter time (now)
   will look as 1 hour wrong but it is physically correct.

    Now your review should say: “I’m seeing one odd **interpretation**
   issue but it’s not a show-stopper so I’m still alive!” :)) The exact same thing
   happened to me when I was designing the plugin, even worse: DST change was next
   day and I got weird results for “tomorrow noon”. It took me an hour of complete
   madness to sort that out, but I’m still alive)
