# Quick question about upgrading

 * I’m following the upgrade tutorial and it says
 * > Delete these Files and Folders:
   >  * wp-* (except for those above), readme.html, wp.php, xmlrpc.php, and license.
   > txt; files; Typically files in your root or wordpress folder. Again, don’t 
   > delete the wp-config.php file.
   >  * wp-admin
 * What is wp-*? Does that mean every file that starts with “wp” besides the ones
   that it says NOT to delete?

 * if you’re upgrading from 2.6.2 to 2.6.3 you only need to delete/upload (personally
   I just overwrite) these files that changed.
 * > wp-admin/includes/media.php
   >  wp-content/plugins/akismet/akismet.php wp-includes/
   > class-snoopy.php wp-includes/version.php
 * As a general rule you delete all files except wp-config.php in wordpress root.
   The entire /wp-admin and /wp-includes (except maybe files you modified) folders
   leaving /wp-content folder intact.
    Upload all files and folders and run upgrade.
   php. Be sure and disable all plugins before upgrade
