Quill FP Social plugin

Actually I am a beginner with wordpress but do have experience with other CMSs system like Typo3 or Joomla. I try to define/design a one pager homepage using the Quill theme. I’ve installed all the recommended plug ins and he contact form 7 plus captcha is working quite fine. Now I want to incorporate the social section. In a first step I want to add a section with some icons (e.g. Twitter, LinkedIn). However, I can’t make it. I can the widget into the footer are but I can’t configure it. As said, I am a beginner with WP. Any help is highly appreciated.
