Am trying to shift my hosting from godaddy to bluehost. I shifted all files but the site is not up since it says random compat file is missing.
However this file is not there even in the original folders of the existing site from where I am shifted the files. What do I do??

    Hello hooma,

Please update your WordPress version Follow the below steps will helps you:

1)First take a backup of all files and the database.
    2) Delete all files and folders except for the folder wp-content. You will need this folder. It contains all the files for your theme and plugin.
    3) Replace all the WordPress files in the install download EXCEPT for wp-content.
    4) Update wp-config.php with your database credentials. They can be retrieved in your current wp-config.php.
    4) Test your website. If all seems well login into your admin panel and see if the database needs updated.

    I hope this helps.

    Thanks

You could use a plugin like https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/all-in-one-wp-migration/

To create a site backup of your site and then you only need to enable that one plugin on your new WordPress site. Then import that one backup file. It will update your site database and copy over all of the wp-content, which would be all of your plugins, themes and uploads.
