 * I am building a completely new site in which randomized slide order is very important.
   Today is the first time I’ve tested outside the machine I am building on, and
   to my surprise – Random Slide Order is not working at all.
   I have that option
   checked on nearly all the slide shows on the site (about 35) and when I am working(
   Macbook) it all works beautifully. I am on version 3.94, the site is hosted by
   GoDaddy. But when I checked the pages on 2 iphones (with different browsers)
   and an iMac an hour ago – Random is a complete fail. Is this a Pro Feature? Is
   there some configuration I’m not aware of? Help!
 * The page I need help with: _[[log in](https://login.wordpress.org/?redirect_to=https%3A%2F%2Fwordpress.org%2Fsupport%2Ftopic%2Frandom-failure%2F%3Foutput_format%3Dmd&locale=en_US)

 * A little more detail:
 * When I am in admin mode and check pages/slideshows, they randomize as they are
   supposed to. If I come to them from a different browser (ie not logged in as
   admin), they do not.
 * If I reload the page and slideshow, nothing changes. If I go into the slideshow
   1st (I have navigation set up for arrow keys only) and THEN reload, the slideshow
   simply goes back to the first slide and the order of the slides remains the same.
 * I’m pretty sure it’s not supposed to do this.
 * Also, this is the current version of MetaSlider (3.94) and ‘no conflict’ mode
   is ON.

 * Hi [@nathanwagoner](https://wordpress.org/support/users/nathanwagoner/). Thanks
   for using MetaSlider.
 * Going by your description of the problem (seeing different slide ordering in
   different browsers), you are likely seeing a cache issue. Most caching systems
   are disabled for admin users but active for non-logged-in visitors.
 * You may need to look into skipping MetaSlider in any cache plugin you’re using.

 * Sorry – I am a little confused. If a cache system is disabled for admin users
   but active for non logged in users, that would mean it’s on the server side,
   yes?
    I am not aware of any installed plug ins that have any effect on the cache
   but I’ll double check – is that what you mean?
 * Thanks!

 * Hi [@nathanwagoner](https://wordpress.org/support/users/nathanwagoner/). Yes,
   that’s my first guess, based on your description. A lot of cache plugins will
   disable themselves for admin users so that you can quickly see the changes you
   make.

 * Well….
    I have disabled every plugin except Metaslider and randomization still
   works only intermittently or not at all. A bit of a disappointment. Is there
   anything else that can be tried?

 * Hi [@nathanwagoner](https://wordpress.org/support/users/nathanwagoner/). I’ve
   been testing the random feature again today and it is working correctly.
 * I would recommend asking your hosting company about any caches they have on your
   site. Just about all hosting companies do.
 * You can also try creating a second slideshow to see if the problem happens there
   also.

 * Thanks for using MetaSlider. We’ve not heard from you in a couple of weeks so
   are closing this discussion for now. Please follow up if this remains an issue.
