 * I would like to be able to have the Magazine Posts widgets on the Homepage display
   random posts within the selected categories not just the latest ones. Is there
   a way to randomize the display?

 * I’m sorry to tell you that this is not possible.
 * You can only achieve that by creating your own Magazine Post widget with a child
   theme.
