• Hi everyone, thanks in advance for the help.

I’m setting up a WP site for a client, and I was trying to change the URL so that the base url (www.blackrockballroomcouture.com) went to the wordpress site instead of the old site. Anyway, when I changed the URL in the WP settings, I got a “Not Found [CFN #0005]” page and that was it. I had fixed this issue in another part of the site by modifying the .htaccess file, so that is what I did again.

Then nothing worked. The WP version of the site would not load (404 error), and even the wp/admin login page was un-styled and led to the same “Not Found [CFN #0005]” page. I tried a few other fixes that I found on various support sites, but nothing seemed to work, even when I rolled back all of my changes, everything was still giving the same errors. So with no other options that I could see, I tried a fresh install of WP, which worked, but now none of the work that I had done on the site is showing. The files are all still there in the host’s WP directory, but even with the theme and plugins(which are still showing up in the WP options page) reactivated, it is still showing the default “Hello World” page. None of the media, pages, portfolios or good items that I have uploaded or created are showing in WP.

Is there a way to manually (or automatically, I suppose) point the new WP install back to all of the files that are still in the WP directories on the server? Or am I just going to have to build the whole site again? I really, really hope it’s not the second option! Please let me know if you have any follow-up questions, or if I wasn’t clear about anything. Thanks again!

have you made any changes to the options table?
have you done appropriate search/replace for old url to new url?

Lisa, thanks for the reply, but what options table do you mean and where would I be searching and replacing for the urls? Thanks!

the options table is stored in the database that is connected to your site.

the support team at your webhosting company can help you to locate the place where your database is available within your webhosting account.
