 * **Current situation:**
    – WordPress install in sub-domain/sub-folder – WordPress
   multisite domain in root
 * **Problem:**
    – Since I configured the wildcard dns record, I can’t reach my
   sub-folder WordPress installation. Not through the sub-domain url neither through
   the sub-folder url.
 * I always get redirected to the root domain with the message: “Registration has
   been disabled.”.
 * **Solution:**
    How do I have to configure the .htaccess files or sub-folder wordpress
   installation, so my sub-folder installation is still reachable and does not redirect
   to the root multisite installation?
 * Thanks in advance!

 * Which is it? Subdomain is foo.domain.com, subfolder is domain.com/foo

 * It is installed in a subfolder, but has a subdomain linked to it.
    So the install
   folder is domain.com/foo, but the wordpress home url is foo.domain.com

 * I… am now more confused
 * > – WordPress install in sub-domain/sub-folder
   >  – WordPress multisite domain
   > in root
 * Are these separate sites?

 * Yes these are seperate installs and sites.
 * The subfolder wordpress install was present first.
    Afterwards I installed a
   multisite wordpress in the root folder and activated the wildcard dns.
 * When a now try to reach my subfolder wordpress website, I always get redirected
   to my root wordpress install.

 * So you have domain.com/ and this is multisite.
 * And you also have subsite.domain.com which is not Multisite?

 * Wildcard _subdomain_ in your DNS?

 * Correct.
    domain.com is multisite subsite.domain.com is regular WordPress install

 * Wildcard DNS record is configured for the root multisite WordPress install.

 * Okay… So the best I can guess with this information is that you set up the subdomains
   incorrectly, and your server can’t tell that separate.domain.com is NOT to be
   handled by the wildcard subdomain DNS setting you put in for *.domain.com
 * This is a ‘Talk to your webhost …’ question, since they’ll be able to fix that
   for you.

 * Thanks for the effort, I will give it a try and let you know.
