# Read/Write Errors – are they an issue ?

 * Hi Eli,
 * Just run your software on a site and I got several read/write errors. The majority
   of these are related to a specific plugin folder, and the others are various.
 * From a malware point of view, are these significant (wondering cause they show
   up red!)

 * Hi Edan,
    Thanks for asking. I made them show up in red because I do feel that
   read write errors are significant. There are certainly plenty of time when it
   is not a problem but it is often an indication of an infection. This does not
   mean that you should delete these files, even if they are infected they need 
   to be checked and cleaned properly (and they may be harmless anyway).
 * Try and click on the linked red file names to see if you can examine the contents
   in my plugin.
 * Check the permission on the files using a good FTP client like Filezilla.
 * Let me know if you need more help and want me to check them for you.
