• I updated to the latest version recently and now on EVERY single back end page there’s a banner at the top advertising the WPtouch newsletter. You close it, it just reappears when you refresh or go to a different page. There appears to be no option to just permanently get rid of it.

    I also don’t trust any plugin that does things to the back end of my site without my permission. Shame, because otherwise this is a good plugin.

    Hi mi5rapekids,

    We are very sorry to hear about the trouble you had with the update. It is not the experience we want any users of WPtouch to have. First, you should be able to swiftly resolve the issue right now by upgrading to the latest version of WPtouch.

    As soon as we became aware of the issue, which we admit would irritate us as well, we worked on getting it resolved and pushing out a release to address it. We should have caught it during testing, but the annoying bug slipped through the cracks. We apologize.

    We can definitely appreciate that. Though, we can assure you that there is nothing nefarious in the code we added, and signing up for the newsletter is 100% completely optional.

    We’d love to have a chance to earn a 5-star review from you! Please upgrade to the latest version of WPtouch and let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.

    @airdrummer,

    Glad to know! You’re either running an earlier version without the newsletter signup or the latest version that does not include the issue. Thanks for the feedback.

    I installed the update recently, and then the next update that came a day later. I still had this problem.

    Even if there’s no security issue it’s just an irritation to have to close an advert over and over and over and over again. I’d rather look at other auto-mobile theme options than mess about any longer with this one.
