    Which I don’t need.

    AND a second email which attaches a .gz file of the back up.

    Which is the one I need.

    Is there an option (setting) to choose which back up emails are sent?

    I believe the second email with the .gz file of the back up is default and the first one (which you don’t need) is usually enabled when you provide an email address in the settings of your backup schedule, which can be accessed here: Admin page > Tools > Backup > Schedule > Settings > Email notification.
