Receiving 'The request was redirected' using Basic Auth

Using Basic Authentication from Postman, with
http://chiptown.it/wp-json/wp/v2/users/me endpoint, results:

‘Status 200 Ok’

If I try to authenticate from a web page using JQuery, I get:

And with angularJs (ionic app), I get the same result:
