 * Hello,
 * I have a problem with a developer. I bought a plugin from him and now he tells
   me that every time I want to install it, I must give him Admin access so he can
   add a licence key to activate it.
 * Of course, I would not give him ‘my’ admin access, I would create an admin account
   for him.
 * I don’t honestly believe it is a trick to get access to my site as an admin.
   His reason is that he hasn’t got a decent licensing solution for his plugin and
   has decided on this ‘amateur’ approach. That’s Upwork for you!
 * IS there any way I can find the plugin license key after he has added it>
    IS
   there a script/plugin that could record all keystrokes by his account so I know
   what was typed as a license?
 * Any ideas please?
    Thanks.

 * Every plugin/theme manages its licensing differently. And you’re not going to
   get recommendations for a keylogger from here, even if one existed.
 * The closes you can get is an activity audit plugin which records what changes
   have been made to the site, NOT every keystroke entered by the user. See [https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-security-audit-log/](https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-security-audit-log/)
 * If this is a publicly-available plugin, a quick googling can show you where and
   how to enter the license key.
 * But this restless mind of mine is wondering: if you don’t trust your provider,
   why do you continue to work with him/her?

 * = at my end of the budget spectrum, I work with anyone who can do the work I
   need done at the price I can pay. Which does mean I have a TON of experience
   with the worst, ‘cowboys’, ‘fly-by-nights’ and bullsh1tters you can imagine.
 * Just visit the bargain basement in Upwork (or any other freelance market) and
   post a job then conduct a few interviews, you’ll see what I mean!
 * My options here are to start again, or patronise this guy if I can record the
   licence key. Which should be mine anyway!
