redirect doesn't work

    Hi,

    I installed wordpress in a directory called wordpress under the directory public_html. I created a .htaccess file with de following text
    redirect /wordpress http://www.sjackjansmafotografie.nl

    the problem is that when i type in my url i get the next message:

    You don’t have permission to access / on this server.
    Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

    when i delete the .htaccess file and type http://www.sjackjansmafotografie.nl/wordpress then its oké.

    What am i doing wrong.
