# Redirect http requests to https

 * Hi,
 * I recently added a SSL Certificate to my wordpress site and of course every link
   I have ever posted on social media goes to the http versions of the posts. Is
   there any way to redirect the http requests to the new https urls? Or any plugin
   that can do this? I tried one plugin but it didn’t work
 * Would really appreciate some help

 * Try update your **WordPress Address (URL)** and **Site Address (URL)** by adding
   [https://www.example.com](https://www.example.com) in place of [http://www.example.com](http://www.example.com)

 * no thats not what I mean, Ive already done that.
 * all the wordpress urls are switched over to https but obviously in the past when
   I’ve posted to social media all my links are to the old http versions. so now
   when people click links from my social media it goes to a 404 page because obviously
   the http versions no longer exist so how do I redirect each old http link out
   there on all my social media to redirect to the https versions when people click
   on older links
