 * we are looking for a 301/redirect plugin to use on our site, and there seems
   to be many good options out there, but none seem to have information about compatibility
   with multisite. We have had many problems with plugins not being compatible before.
 * Does anyone have any experience or recommendations?

 * What do you need to redirect?
 * Personally I just edit .htaccess.

 * I need something that content producers/editors can use, not just the server
   admin.
 * Server-level redirects work well for sub-directories, but for page or post redirects,
   especially temporary ones, we need something that’s end-user accessible.

 * If you rename a post or page in WP, WP will automatically handle the redirect.
 * Past that? You shouldn’t be doing it in general. It’s one of the cardinal rules
   of the web: Don’t change your URLs.

 * I wouldn’t trust that power to content producers or editors; you can f’ stuff
   up with dem 301 redirects, when in the wrong hands…

 * I sometimes use redirects for marketing purposes to help track how a particular
   advertisement performs. Instead of buying and using new domains, I’ll redirect
   an unused subdirectory to our landing page with a tracking extension appended
   to the end of the URL.
 * For example I might create a print ad with the url as [http://www.mysite.com/vanityurl](http://www.mysite.com/vanityurl)
 * So I can track the response from this ad, I would like this url to redirect to
   the correct landing page but include a Google tracking extension appended to
   the URL.
 * Landing Page URL: [http://www.mysite.com/landing-page](http://www.mysite.com/landing-page)
 * Landing Page URL with tracking extension: [http://www.mysite.com/landing-page?utm_source=time-magazine&utm_medium=print&utm_campaign=product-name](http://www.mysite.com/landing-page?utm_source=time-magazine&utm_medium=print&utm_campaign=product-name)
 * I’m currently researching how I can accomplish this easily on WordPress multisite
   as I don’t want to redirect every domain’s subdirectory on my multisite network
   to the same landing page.
 * Does anyone have any ideas on the best way to accomplish this?
 * I found this but it didn’t work correctly for me: [http://www.ninjaxservice.com/blogger-tips/how-to-setup-wordpress-multisite-301-redirects-for-multiple-sites/](http://www.ninjaxservice.com/blogger-tips/how-to-setup-wordpress-multisite-301-redirects-for-multiple-sites/)
 * Thanks!

 * Hi,
 * In case anyone else is looking. I just found this plugin that works perfectly
   for what I’m trying to accomplish.
 * [http://wordpress.org/plugins/speedy-page-redirect/screenshots/](http://wordpress.org/plugins/speedy-page-redirect/screenshots/)
 * I create a blank page that contains the Vanity URL.
 * There is a meta box on the page that allows me to insert where I want the page
   to redirect to where I can add the landing page with the tracking extension.
 * Thanks
