    Hello,

Thanks for using WPS Hide Login.

That’s the way the plugin works.

When you set up a secret slug, /wp-login.php is removed and non-loggedin users ared redirected from /wp-admin to 404.

I think you did not understand.

The Redirect Url field, serves to define which page we want to redirect the user if he tries to access the old urls, ‘wp-admin’ and ‘wp-login’ right?

    If so, it’s not working.

I defined a custom error page that I created, but it is not working, it does not go to 404, nor to the page that I defined, it goes to a standard wordpress page, displayed when the url does not exist.

    did you understand?
(Redirection to a page chosen by us is not working).

    Last Version WP and Plugin.

    Hello again,

    Ok ok.

Yes, you’re right. You understood the way the plugin works.

    You’re using Elementor, right ?

    I not use elementor.

    Tested on “Twenty Twenty-One” theme.

Only active plugins are: jetpack and wps-hide login.

It never takes me to the page I chose, it always takes me to the “nothing found” screen which has a search field.

Maybe this is page 404, but it doesn’t display the number 404.
But the issue here is, it doesn’t lead to the page I defined.

    Hello !

    Ok, I understand !

This field only renames 404 page. It doesn”t create or point to a new one.

The, if you’ve got a 404 page name /notfound, this field will redirect to it even though you entered /mynewpage404 in it.

Do you see what I mean ?

    Look.

I apologize for insisting on this, but the field instruction says:
Redirect URL when someone tries to access the wp-login.php page and the wp-admin directory while not logged in.

That is, it implies that we can choose which page we want to redirect the user to when he tries to access the deactivated login urls.

What’s the point of this field if it doesn’t do this?
Because regardless of the redirection page I choose, nothing happens.

Suggestion: Remove this field, it is useless, or give it the function that’s in the description, which is redirect!

Which by the way is a great utility

    Have a great day
