# Redirection Loop

 * Updated WordPress to version 4.4.1, when loading to main homepage (Base url),
   causes redirection loop.
    If accessing any other known page on website either
   by direct URL or through other page links within page, working fine. (E.g. [http://www.webpage.com/thispage](http://www.webpage.com/thispage))
 * Notes:
    -Issue resolved when “Post Name” permalink is set back to “Plain” -Checked
   that .htaccess is configured as per default WordPress installation -Disabled 
   all plugins and set to default unmodified “Twenty Fifteen” theme, issue still
   present -Front page displays (Under settings) is set as a static page, but when
   changed to something else, the original set page then does not cause redirection
   loop error
 * I have two completely different websites, hosted at two different providers and
   they both exhibit the same issue starting on January 8, 2016. Leaving the permalinks
   to plain is not the end of the world, but not that pretty for organization. Has
   anyone else experienced this issue or having any suggestions to resolving it?
