redirections not working

I recently changed the url for one of my pages from ‘https://www.eyetooth.design/graphic-web-design-services/graphic-design-services-in-england/’ to ‘https://www.eyetooth.design/graphic-web-design-services/award-winning-graphic-design-company/’.
I hoped that the redirection plugin would notice and automatically redirect the page, but it did not seem to so I manually created the following redirect:
‘/graphic-web-design-services/graphic-design-services-uk/’
to ‘https://www.eyetooth.design/graphic-web-design-services/graphic-design-services-in-england/’.
When I ‘check the redirect’, it seems to be correct, but I still get a 404 error when visiting the old URL.
I have had issues with redirects where there are parent and child pages, but am really struggling to find a solution that will work or why the redirects aren’t working properly.
Any help or advice would be really appreciated.
Please let me know if you need clarification or more info?

I have had to disable the redirections plugin, as the live page is now displaying the following message:

This page isn’t workingwww.eyetooth.design redirected you too many times.
Try clearing your cookies.
ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS

I would really like to make sure that old links are redirected, but not at the expense of having broken pages all over my site. If anyone can help that would be great.

P.S. Could any plugins like WordFence or Squirrly SEO cause conflicts with the redirection plugin?

In the first message you say you want to redirect /graphic-web-design-services/graphic-design-services-in-england/, but then say you have created a redirect for /graphic-web-design-services/graphic-design-services-uk/. These are not the same.

Have you enabled the URL monitoring option?

The check redirect is correct. If you are not seeing the same then your browser has cached the old response.

If you have a too many redirects message then you have created a redirect loop. You will need to break this loop. It is often caused by a regular expression redirect.

Thanks for your reply John. Sorry if I was confusing. I wanted to redirect /graphic-web-design-services/graphic-design-services-in-england/ to https://www.eyetooth.design/graphic-web-design-services/award-winning-graphic-design-company/.
I have had loads of similar issues with other sites too, so maybe it has something to do with creating redirects for both parent and child pages using the redirections plugin or maybe a conflict somewhere else on my site.
I have since tried the esp-301-redirects plugin (after disabling redirection) and it seems to have fixed the issues. I guess that just works better with my particular setup.

There’s no reason why Redirection wouldn’t work, and I don’t think there will be anything particular unique about your setup that would stop it. A cache will affect all plugins the same.

If you did want to use Redirection in the future then I can help you figure out the problem above.
