 * The exact error is: An error occurred while attempting to create the refund using
   the payment gateway API.
 * Log shows: Refund failed: No country given for address. –> I am using woocommerce
   Checkout field editor hence for digital products (images) i would need no address.

 * I encountered the same problem.
    The exact error is: An error occurred while
   attempting to create the refund using the payment gateway API. I sell digital
   products and I use Direct Checkout to remove State, City, Postcode, Address 1,
   Address 2, Company and Phone. The country is not removed at checkout. The manual
   refund worked.

 * Thanks for your reply and the solution. I grab the country via GEO IP for currency
   changes, however it shouldn’t be necessary to put a country hence this might
   be not necessary for digital products. I hope this could be fixed soon.

 * Hello [@larsvonhierblau](https://wordpress.org/support/users/larsvonhierblau/)
   and [@squilib](https://wordpress.org/support/users/squilib/) ,
 * thank you for reaching out to us, we are here to help.
    This is a known bug that
   was introduced to the payment plugin at the beginning of May and we have been
   looking into this for quite some time now. We believed that this was caused by
   a change on the server-side of PayPal and are still looking into that. The refund
   should still be possible to be performed via the PayPal web interface, so you
   can do that as a temporary workaround.
 * Last week, my developer gave me a package to test for this issue, so if you want,
   you can try to use this instead of the current release and see if it resolves
   the issue. You can download the package from [here](https://drive.google.com/file/d/15pp96ONbWMMlv3zvPAKQ1-UzGx2_yMp7/view?usp=sharing).
   One other merchant tested this package already last week and informed us it resolved
   the issue, so until the next release this could also be a possible solution.
   We are looking for more people to test this fix, so please let us know if you
   have tried it out.
 * Pending your response.
 * Kind regards,
    Joost

 * Thank you [@larsvonhierblau](https://wordpress.org/support/users/larsvonhierblau/)
 * This fix should be included in our next release, so please make sure the plugin
   is updated. There is not much more we can do for this case, so we will mark it
   as resolved. Please open a new thread if you have any more questions for us.
 * Kind regards,
    Joost
