Hi, after activating Related posts on 2 of my blogs, I noted an increase of size to wp_postmeta tables. Also bandwidth used nearly doubles. Could it be related?

How much space and bandwidth are we talking about specifically?

An increase on both is suspected, but a very small increase. We will store related post IDs in the post meta, but that’s just a few numbers. And, of course, when related posts appear, more data is sent for the page render, but again not much at all.

About 50Mb increase to postmeta (in only 15 days) with a lot of Related posts cache entries. And about 50% more daily bandwidth, now over 6Gb a day. The sites are running TwentyTwenty in Standard AMP mode

Yeah that’s definitely not normal, and the first time I’ve heard of that.

In both space and bandwidth, you should just have a few kb added to the database and bandwidth.

If you disable Related Posts, does the bandwidth usage go down?

What is the URL of the site with the problem?

    The main site is labrujulaverde.com

Will try to deactivate related post in non production test site and see what happens. But will be thankful if you can check it

Well, I have just found the problem with database size increase and it is not Related Posts but the AMP plugin standard mode. Forgeting checked posts in AMP dashboard makes 50Mb in postmeta go away.

Has that addressed the bandwidth issue too? Overall, I see nothing out of place on your site.

No, bandwidth is still high. I’ve asked about it in the AMP forum, where they confirmed the postmeta problem, and am waiting response: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/big-increase-in-postmeta-size/#post-12891448
