 * Is there a way to manually reset the instagram images cache? Maybe a simple button
   on dashboard?
 * If there is an image that has been deleted from Instagram account, your plugin
   caused very slow loading performance to the web page. The plugin requested image
   that is no longer existed in the Instagram account.

 * The widget is cached as a transient, you can clean your transients with this

 * I have the same issue, the photos displayed are many weeks old. I tried this 
   plugin and deleted the expired transients. Should I clean all transients? I’m
   afraid something might break in my website.

   all transients is fine, they are supposed to be temporary.
