Remove capabilities to edit published posts / CPTs
-
#My current setup:
– I use PublishPress Capabilities on a multisite environment.
– I have multiple Custom Post Types, and also use Posts and Pages.
– I have a functionality similar to (but not) Yoast Duplicate Post that allow users to clone or create a new draft of an already published post / page / CPT.#What I am trying to do:
– I want to remove the contributor’s capability to edit already published page, but they can create a new draft of a page
– I then want to propagate those settings to all my sites within my multisite environment#What I do:
– I go to capabilities, select contributor and untick “Edit published” for all posts / pages / CPT. Then I click sync role and sync options to all sites now#What happens:
– on the main site, I refresh the page, and the Edit Published for posts is ticked again even though I unticked it
– I check on another site from the multisite environment and it unticked “Edit published” for pages but not for posts / CPTsAlso I tried to use the negate (cross) function but it still doesn’t do what it is supposed to do.
Any pointers of where I am going wrong? Thanks!
Sandra
