# Remove / Deactivate

 *  Resolved [ELAN42///](https://wordpress.org/support/users/nokao/)

 * [8 years, 4 months ago](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/remove-deactivate/)
 * I cannot remove or deactivate my already-created 301 redirects,
    can you confirm
   it’s a bug ?
 * If I click single or multiple delete,
    the page refresh but the redirect will
   always be in the database.

 * I’m unable to reproduce this problem.
 * Can you open your browser’s developer console and see if any errors are shown?
 * If nothing is shown, would it be possible to get a login to one of these sites
   to see if I can figure out what is happening? If that’s ok I can be contacted
   at [https://redirection.me/contact/](https://redirection.me/contact/)

 * No JS console erros,
    but this on my PHP error log:

 * Well… we are ALL having this “delete/deactivate” problem that you cannot reproduce…
   so it must be true no?

 * [@mentor_01](https://wordpress.org/support/users/mentor_01/) I haven’t doubted
   the problem exists, just that I am unable to reproduce it. I am attempting to
   debug this further here [https://wordpress.org/support/topic/unable-to-delete-redirect/](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/unable-to-delete-redirect/)
 * And ‘ALL’ is the people in the forum who are here to report problems, it is not
   everybody using the plugin.

 * I guess if this happens only when you are deleting a redirect,
    while filtering
   with the search function ?
 * I didn’t try without the search function, because actually I have a lot of redirects
   and I have to filter them.
 * Otherwise, another guess, may this happen because I was not in the first page
   but in the second (again, because I have a lot of redirects) ?

 * Sorry I did not want to sound harsh but there are a lot of people with this issue
   and seems like there is no solution. I would almost prefer to pay for support(
   if available) but then what can we do now?
 * We cannot edit/remove redirects…

 * I appreciate it’s frustrating when something isn’t working, but a little understanding
   can go a long way. Thanks to another user providing access to their server I
   was able to track down and fix the problem. You can try this in the 3.2 beta
   2:
 * [https://github.com/johngodley/redirection/releases/tag/3.2-beta](https://github.com/johngodley/redirection/releases/tag/3.2-beta)
 * If all goes well then I’ll release this properly in a day or so.

 * Unfortunately, a problem occured.
 * I updated as you suggested to beta 3.2,
    and all my redirects disappeared.
 * Then I tryed to downgrade, but also with the old plugin the redirects are disappeared.
 * I have a nightly backup, but I can’t load it because we received bookings in
   the morning.
 * Can you help me to recover our redirects ?

 * Ok, I made it myself:
    – loading a backup for few minutes – exporting my old
   redirects – reloading current backup – importing lost redirects
 * Lost redirects re-appeared now.
    (I repeat: after upgrade they was totally wiped
   out)
 * I suggest you to do some testing before releasing this beta,
    because this behaviour
   is buggy 😉
 * Bye

 * I’m sorry you lost your redirects.
 * Did you delete the old plugin? If so, then you deleted your redirects. The page
   I linked to above has documentation about how to upgrade to a beta release, and
   this involves not deleting the old plugin.
 * This isn’t a bug with the beta version as there’s nothing there that would delete
   things.

 * I John, you are right and I would like to apologize with you. I was under pressure
   to deliver this project and the tool wasn’t working properly. Is there a way
   to donate? Once done I would like to make a donation for the time you are dedicating
   us and the tool you have created.

 * Hi !
 * I didn’t remember at all that deactivating the plugin deletes the redirects,

   so this is what happened … no problem, I exported them from a backup and re-imported
   them.
 * Thanks again

 * [@mentor_01](https://wordpress.org/support/users/mentor_01/), no problem at all.
   The plugins options page has information about donating, thank you.
 * I’ll mark this as resolved as it seems to be fixed now
