 * Great looking plugin. However I would love a simple download link. I have read
   your docs and looked at the HTML and there seems no way, even with CSS, to remove
   the (# downloaded) after the download link.
 * If I am right, can you at least add a span tag around that part of the HTML output,
   ideally with a class applied, so I can remove that? I suspect there are many
   people and cases where site owners do not want to promote how many times the
   file was downloaded. For me I simply can’t use it yet.
 * Thanks.
 * The page I need help with: _[[log in](https://login.wordpress.org/?redirect_to=https%3A%2F%2Fwordpress.org%2Fsupport%2Ftopic%2Fremove-downloaded%2F%3Foutput_format%3Dmd&locale=en_US)

 * ok. My request still stands so I could use the shortcode, but I realized I could
   simply just create a basic text link without the shortcode and that way control
   the output. So I am back on board, and still, my request for a simple code change
   would help.
 * cheers,

 * Hey David,
 * This can be done by overriding the template file you’re using. You can read more
   about this here: [https://www.download-monitor.com/kb/overriding-content-templates/](https://www.download-monitor.com/kb/overriding-content-templates/)
 * Kind Regards,
