# Remove individual theme option fields from WordPress theme

 * I’m afraid I’m not too clued up with this sort of thing but you guys will hopefully
   be able to help out.
 * I’m working with a theme that has way too many options in the back end and most
   of them aren’t needed. This theme is a Job Agency theme that we’re using for 
   a client’s site and they will need the data entry for job inputting to be much
   simpler than it is.
 * Please can someone point me in the right direction for editing and/or removing
   theme options fields.
 * Any help would be REALLY appreciated.

 * Thanks but this is customization of their theme so most theme developers don’t
   offer support of customization.
 * It’s definitely possible, I’m just trying to get a few pointers so I can tweak
   the theme 🙂

 * Well, you need to find where those fields come from. Look for code that creates
   metaboxes. It’s really hard to be any more specific than that.

 * IF that’s a sincere statement, you need to hire a WordPress professional to help
   you, as removing stuff from a theme can be tricky.
 * I like to recommend checking meetup.com for WordPress meetups in your area. They’re
   good for meeting local WP folks and the organizers can offer qualified recommendations
   for local devs.

 * Thanks for your help, I have been working with WordPress for a fair while and
   I’m pretty good at picking stuff up so I just thought that a few pointers might
   give me a bit of a clue with where to start.

 * yes, and then looking in each template to remove the code that displays the fields
   that no longer exist and fixing up CSS so things look good again when those fields
   are not displayed.
 * Lots of possibilities for side effects.
 * Be sure to use version control so you can recover from oopsies.
