# remove 'recent comments' bottom widget

 * could some one please help me to remove the ‘recent comments’ widget in sampression-
   lite theme

 * yes i did, thank you
    it seem to be hard coded somewhere in the theme, but i 
   can’t find it

 * I just installed the theme on a test site – and removed it no problem – what 
   do you see under Widgets – the boxes on the right side – you may need to click
   on the flippy triangles to see the widgets already in them.

 * the recent comments widget isn’t active in any of the widgets
    but it always 
   shows at the bottom of the page

 * if i leave the bottom widget2 blank it automatically appears
    what i did is, 
   i place a custom text widget there and just left it blank

 * Yep, that’s how “default” widgets often work – they are there unless you replace
   them with something else – but it sounds like you found a good solution :).
