 * Hi,
 * There are many posts on how to include scripts on certain admin pages. But I
would like to know how to REMOVE any one of the WP core scripts. Is this possible?
 * I posted about a particular problem caused by the [audio] shortcode being converted
to an actual player in the Vidual post editor on [https://wordpress.org/support/topic/new-audio-player-in-visual-editor-forces-shortcode-to-new-paragraph](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/new-audio-player-in-visual-editor-forces-shortcode-to-new-paragraph)

as this has some nasty side-effects for us and I’d like to remove any script(
   s) responsible for this.
 * Is there any way to dequeue WP core scripts on admin pages?

 * Why would you want to do that? They’re all needed by wp-admin.

 * Hi Esmi, thanks for your response 🙂
 * > Why would you want to do that?
 * Because I want to prevent the [audio] shortcode being replaced by an actual player
in the Visual editor. The player always gets its own paragraph while the shortcode
used to be able to live inline with normal text. I think this changed with WP
   3.9 ?
 * The problem is that we are running a website with over 1000 posts that have one
or more audio shortcodes and all of them are used inline with text. The front
end audio player has been adapted via CSS to only show a play/pause button that
   fits nicely inline.
 * Now, after upgrading, each time a post is edited, the play button jumps to its
own paragraph, breaking the original post layout. Making us very unhappy with
this latest media editing feature 🙁
