 * Small matter, but how do I get the “Autoptimize has just been updated. Please
   test your site now and adapt Autoptimize config if needed.” message to go away?
   I’m seeing it on every admin page, and I’ve already visited the plugin settings
   page.

 * seems like the version in the wp-options table doesn’t get updated. you can go
   to /wp-admin/options.php, search for autoptimize_version, set that value to 2.0.0
   and click on “save changes” way at the bottom of that page.
 * hope this helps,
    frank

 * Thanks for your quick response! Unfortunately, autoptimize_version is already
   set to 2.0.0 on that page.
 * I also can’t get any changes I make to the Autoptimize Settings page to save,
   either through the Settings menu or through this options.php page, in case that’s
   related.

 * if autoptimize_version is at 2.0.0, then [as per the code](https://github.com/futtta/autoptimize/blob/master/autoptimize.php#L49-L62)
   this shouldn’t happen. as you can’t options either, something must have gone
   wrong during the update. I’d suggest to deactivate & remove autoptimize (from
   WP admin screen) and to reinstall.
