 * I have been reading through the forums and checking Google but I can’t figure
out how to remove the Widgets with Search, Links and Calender. I went into widgets
and it shows that there are none in Sidebar 1 and Sidebar 2. At some point in
time, I will probably want to put ads or Widgets but for now I just want them
   gone.

 * Try adding an empty Text widget to your sidebar(s).

 * Just add in the text code at your sidebar widgets and your ads should appear
   by then

 * Thanks for the suggestions..
 * I updated the page and put a Text widget with no text. It now shows a little
rectangle. It wouldn’t be so bad if the rectangle was white and matched that
page but it’s a bluish color and looks silly. Any other ideas? I don’t know CSS
or any coding. If I put text in it there is still a blue background in the text
box. Is there a way to make that box white instead?

 * What you were seeing previously was the sidebar’s default content when no widgets
have been added. What you are seeing now is the theme’s default widget/sidebar
styling. The former you can remove by editing the theme’s sidebar template file(
s). The latter – by editing the theme’s CSS. Try using Firefox with the Firebug
add-on for this kind of work.

 * Thanks! I have FireBug now. I ended up just changing my theme to one that didn’t
   do it.
