• Copy and paste some formatted text from anything (browser, Word etc) looses formatting when page is updated. The HTML is stripped. I disabled TinyMCE Advanced and I no longer have the problem. But I’ve lost some features for the editor now obviously.

Have read lots of posts on this issue related to WP in general and tried many of the suggestions but nothing worked. I hadn’t considered it was TinyMCE Advanced causing the problem. Or so it appears based on deactivating it.

    Any thoughts on fixes?

A week ago now I posted the above and no reply/input from developer. Nice.

I deleted TinyMCE Advanced due to it causing the above problem, and installed TinyMCE Unrestrictor which opened up the editor features. I have

      not

had the html stripping issue occur anymore.

That’s strange. The TinyMCE “paste” plugin is part of WordPress core. It is not affected and cannot be disabled from TinyMCE Advanced.

However if “formatting” is lost after saving, perhaps something else is filtering the content. For example author level users are not allowed to post “unfiltered HTML”. Could that be the reason? Another test would be to switch Visual => Text and back and see if the “formatting” is still there.

As far as I see the plugin you mention has nothing to do with pasting.
