    Hi,

Is it possible to remove the “Website” box that comes up when leaving a comment? And if so, how would I do this?

Also is it possible to edit the text that says “Leave a reply”?

    Thanks

  • This can be done, but it depends on what theme you are using. Please provide a link to your site so we can see what theme you are using.

In your theme file, you should have a file called comments.php.

That’s the file that has the comment box and the text Leave a reply.

Thanks, I’ll have a look into the comments.php file.

    I’m using this theme:

    “Asokay 1.0.3 by Andreas Viklund
A full-featured but still simple and easy-to-use blog/website theme, built from the Toolbox theme by Automattic and styled by Andreas Viklund.”

Would it be possible to remove the “Website” box?

I’ve searched through all of my theme files for the word “Website”, but it isn’t in any of them.

I’m guessing it would include the word “Website” as it is the actual message written within the comment box?

What section of code do I need to delete to remove the “Website” field from the comment box?

    Thanks

Who the heck is Andreas Viklund and why is that important? You were asked to provide a link to your site, and if you don’t, you won’t get anymore answers period.

He was the person who created the theme.

The theme title used to be written at the bottom of the page, but I’ve since taken it out. Therefore giving a link to the site wouldn’t have answered the question that Christine asked: “… so we can see what theme you are using”.

Next time, can you actually read what was written shirazdrum.

Thanks for your help Christine, I was able to create a custom comment message by looking in the comments.php file like you mentioned.

For anyone wondering how to remove the “Website” field from the comment box, I’ve just managed to do it successfully by following these instructions:

    Grindzewall,

What you don’t understand is that Christine wasn’t interested in the name of your theme, or the designer. She wanted to see the code from her browser, and Christine, me, or anyone else could care less what your theme is called, who designed it or what color it is.

Next time, can you actually read what was written shirazdrum.

I do read and I do my job very well. Remember that you are the one in need of help not me, so have some respect for the volunteers here who try to help you, because one thing is certain as day is light, you will have more problems and you will be back.
